Directions

Feeding directions: Adult dogs: adult dogs with normal activity may be fed once daily. Depending on your dog's age and activity, serving sizes may vary slightly from the recommended daily feeding guide portions. For pregnant or lactating females, feed daily up to three times the amount suggested for their non-pregnant weight. Weaning puppies: start puppies on Companion Vitaful Original Formula Dog Food as soon as they begin to chew on solid food, usually 3-4 weeks of age. Allow them to eat as much as they want until fully weaned (6-8 weeks of age). Growing puppies: puppies should be completely weaned by 6-8 weeks of age. After weaning, feed them all they want three times daily to six months of age and twice daily to 12 months of age. If desired, Companion Vitaful Original Formula Dog Food can be fed moistened. To feed moistened, mix 1/4 cup of water to 2 cups of Companion Vitaful original formula dog food. Feeding tip: changes to your pet's feeding should be made gradually. Blend increasing amounts of Companion Vitaful Original Formula Dog food with his/her current food until your pet has a 100% Companion Vitaful Original Formula Dog Food diet. Use the transition feeding tips as a guide. Remember to provide plenty of fresh, clean water in a clean container at all times. Veterinary care is important? As part of a total health care plan for your special pet we recommend annual veterinary check-ups and vaccinations. Recommended daily feeding guide. Dog size - feeding amounts in cups**. Dog size: 3-12lbs. Feeding amounts in cups**: 1/2 - 1 1/2 cups. Dog size: 13-25lbs. Feeding amounts in cups**:1 1/2 - 2 cups. Dog size: 26-50lbs. Feeding amounts in cups**: 2- 3 1/2 cups. Dog size: 51-100lbs. Feeding amounts in cups**: 3 1/2 - 5 1/2 cups. Dog size: 100+ lbs. Feeding amounts in cups**: 5 1/2 cups + 1/2 cup for every 12 lbs over 100 lbs. **Amounts are based on standard 8 oz dry measuring cup. Transition feeding tips. 1-3 days - 1/4 part Companion + 3/4 part dog food. 3-6 days - 1/2 part Companion + 1/2 part dog food. 6-9 days - 3/4 Part Companion + 1/4 part dog food. 10+ days - Companion only. Close package tightly between feedings or store in an airtight container to keep product fresh.
