Using a charcoal chimney. We highly recommend starting your fire with a charcoal chimney. Fill the chimney with lump charcoal and place it over a fire starter or clean paper such as the inner layers of this bag. Light the starter and let the coals burn until flames begin to come out of the top. Then carefully dump the chimney and spread out the coals. Grilling tips. Be sure the coals are mostly ashed over before cooking. Spread the coals, but be sure they are still touching. Use the grill vents to control the temperature. Open them wide for more heat. Close them for less. Store in a cool, dry location.
