1. Locate and remove the object causing the injury. 2. Inspect carefully to determine if the injury is in the tread area, if the direction of the damage is straight into the tire, if any cables have been broken and if the injury is smaller than 1/8 in in diameter. If the injury is not in the tread area and straight into the tire, if there are broken cables or it if the injury is larger than 1/8 in in diameter, do not proceed. Refer the tire to a full service tire repair facility. 3. Probe and clean the injury channel with the probing tool. 4. Center the repair into the eye of the inserting needle. 5. Push the repair insert into the injury channel up to the point where it is about 1/2 in above the tire's surface. Turn the inserting needle 1/4 turn and withdraw if from the tire. 6. Finish the repair by trimming the insert 1/8 in from the surface of the tire, and applying a patch to the innerliner. Check for air leaks. Do not put tire into service if any air seepage is present.
