Zatarain's New Orleans Style Southern Stroganoff Pasta Dinner Mix


 

Directions

You will need: Prep time: 5 minutes Cook time: 20 minutes Makes 5 (1-cup) servings. 1 package Zatarain's® southern stroganoff pasta dinner mix. 1 pound lean ground beef or ground turkey. 2 1/4 cups milk. 1 cup water. Directions: 1. Brown meat in large (12 inch) skillet on medium-high heat. Drain fat. 2. Stir in milk, water and pasta dinner mix. Bring to boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 12 to 15 minutes or until pasta is tender, stirring occasionally. 3. Remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes. Sauce will thicken upon standing. Stir before serving. Variations: Beef & vegetable stroganoff: stir 1 cup frozen peas or peas with pearl onions into skillet after pasta mixture comes to boil in step 2. Continue as directed. Steak & mushroom stroganoff: use 1 pound boneless beef sirloin steak, cut into thin strips, in place of the ground beef. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add steak; cook and stir about 4 minutes or until no longer pink. Remove steak from skillet. Continue as directed. Stir 1 can (8 ounces) sliced mushrooms, drained, into skillet after pasta mixture comes to boil in step 2. Return steak to skillet after pasta is cooked.
