Other Description

We don't need to be the only beer you drink. We just want to be the best beer you drink. It was 1988. America predominantly drank lagers. There were plenty of beer choices. Just not many style options. John Hall was a frequent traveler to England. And a frequent visitor to pubs throughout the English countryside. He returned home to Chicago with a taste for the pronounced hops and malty backbones of pub ales, only to find lagers and more lagers. So, he did what any irrational person would do. He quit his job and built a brewery. He built a brewery when craft breweries were scarce in America, and nonexistent in Chicago. He built a brewery that would awaken America's palate by brewing a wide variety of distinctive ales. Goose Island Beer Company was born Friday, May 13, 1988. We remain relentless in our craft. We live to experiment and explore, constantly innovating how we brew and age our beer. We re-invent old world styles and have created a few new ones along the way. Always with the intent to challenge and delight beer lovers. Because like you, we love discovering a great beer. 65 IBU. 6.7% alc./vol. Nonic. Discover what's next from our family of great beer.
