Cooking instructions: Microwave: Brown: crumble 1 pound lean ground beef into 3 quart microwaveable casserole. Microwave uncovered on high (100% power) 3 to 6 minutes*, breaking up beef halfway through, until brown. Drain. Add: 3 1/2 cups boiling water, the pasta, and sauce mix. Stir thoroughly. Heat: uncovered in microwave on high (100% power) 10 to 15 minutes*, stirring every 5 minutes until pasta is tender (sauce will thicken as it stands). Dish will be hot. *Because microwaves cook differently, times are approximate. High altitude directions (3500 to 6500 feet): increase boiling water to 3 3/4 cups. Stove top: Brown: 1 pound lean ground beef in 10 to 12 inch skillet. Drain. Add: 31/4 cups hot water, the pasta, and sauce mix. Heat: to boiling, stirring constantly. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 13 minutes, stirring occasionally. Uncover and remove from heat (sauce will thicken as it stands). High altitude directions (3500 to 6500 feet): increase water to 31/2 cups and simmer about 15 minutes.
