To Make a Gasket: 1. Flange surfaces should be clean, dry and completely free of paint, dirt, grease or old gasket material. 2. Spray Permatex Surface Prep activator to one surface only. Allow to dry 1 -2 minutes. 3. Apply a continuous bead of sealant to the unprimed surface. 4. Assemble mating surfaces with minimal lateral movement. Excess sealant can be wiped away with a cloth and shop solvent. To Dress a Gasket: 1. Flange surfaces should be clean, dry and completely free of paint, dirt, grease or old gasket material. 2. Spray Permatex Surface Prep activator to both flange surfaces. Allow to dry 1 -2 minutes. 3. Completely cover both sides of the precut gasket with sealant. 4. Place coated gasket on flange, and assemble mating surfaces with minimal lateral movement.
