For the best results follow these simple instructions. How to make perfect chip-shop batter. Empty the contents into a mixing bowl. Add 280ml (1/2 pint) of cold water and whisk until a smooth batter is formed. Dry fish, chicken or vegetables and lightly dust with flour. Dip in the batter to coat fully. Deep fry in hot fat or oil 170C/350F until golden. Drain on kitchen paper before serving. Tasty tips. Try using beer or lager instead of water for an extra crisp and tasty batter. Store in a cool dry place.
