A harmless electrical signal is sent through the body and when combined with the guided user profile set up, the technology transmits information to the readout. Note: Body fat percentages can vary day to day and throughout the day. Do not compare the results of this scale with other methods. The key is to use one method of calculating body composition consistently and track those results over time with the same device. This scale also can be used for simple weight only - just step on the scale. Athlete Mode: The standard BIA technology can over estimate the body fat of elite and professional athletes. Elite athletes are those who train consistently 3 times per week for at least 2 hours each time.
