Directions

Cooking Instructions: Combine rice, water, and butter (optional) in medium saucepan, according to chart provided. Season with salt if desired. Bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat to low and simmer 45-50 minutes, or until all water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let stand covered for 5 minutes. Fluff with fork before serving. Note: For high altitudes, use slightly more water and allow 5 minutes longer cooking time. To retain vitamins, do not rinse before or drain after cooking. Servings: 2-3; 1/2 cup rice; 1 cup water or broth; 2 tsp. butter or oil (optional). Servings: 4-6; 1 cup rice; 2 cups water or broth; 1 tbsp. butter or oil (optional).
