Care and use instructions included on reverse. There are many methods of preserving and canning. We suggest to achieve the best results you should always use a trusted recipe and follow the instructions exactly. We have listed a few basic rules to ensure successful preserving; before use, ensure jar surfaces are free from chips, scratches or any remnants of food. If jars are found to have chips or scratches, discard and replace with new ones; avoid the use of metallic or abrasive sponges and allow jars to dry naturally; 86 mm/3 3/8 lids fit Kilner Preserve Jars with a 86 mm/3 3/8 inch mouth. Always check screws bands for signs of deterioration before use; before preserving, jars and lids must be sterilised; when filling a hot jar, be sure to leave appropriate headspace between the preserve and the top of the jar. We recommend approximately 1-2 cm / 1/2-3/4 inch; remove air bubbles with a bubble remover spatula; to help a seal form, use wax discs before sealing jars; ensure the jar rim is perfectly clean and place the vacuum discs on the jar; place the outer screw band on the lid and tighten. (Do not over tighten); do not retighten as this may result in seal failure; process the jars using your preferred method or following your recipe instructions; sealed jars should be left for 24 hours to cool; once a vacuum seal has successfully formed, jars should be store in a cool dry place away from the light in an upright position. Care and Use; always clean jars and lids before use. Wash thoroughly and rinse in clean, warm water; jars are dishwasher safe; screws bands can be washed in warm water. Vacuum discs can only be used once; replacement bands and discs are available.
