Unspecified Cooking Directions: Rinse rice. Boil water. Simmer 14-16 minutes. Serve. For firmer rice, use less water and simmer for a shorter amount of time. For softer rice, use more water and simmer for a longer amount of time. 1. Rinse thoroughly before cooking. 2. Bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 tsp. butter or oil and a pinch of salt (optional). 3. Stir in 1 cup of rice. Reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer 14-16 minutes or until water is absorbed. Do not lift lid while cooking; steam cooks rice. 4. Remove from heat. Let stand covered for about 5 minutes. Fluff with fork. Serve. Note: 1 cup dry rice = about 3 - 3 1/2 cups cooked rice. Store in a cool, dry place. For optimal freshness, refrigerate after opening. Pull to open.
