The Vanilla Bean is the fruit of an orchid-like flower grown in the tropics. We select Bourbon Vanill beans because of their complex flavors. Split bean lengthwise with sharp knife and scrape seeds into gently simmering milk or cream when making custards, dessert sauces, or ice cream. A 2-inch piece of Bourbon Vanilla Bean is equivalent to 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract. For ultimate freshness, keep jar closed and away from heat, light, and moisture.
