Measurements: Cooked rice (1-1/2 cups): 1/2 Rice (cups); 1 Water (cup); 1 tsp Butter or margarine, optional; 1/4 tsp Salt, optional. Cooked rice (3-1/2 cups): 1 Rice (cups); 2 Water (cup); 2 tsp Butter or margarine, optional; 1/2 tsp Salt, optional. Cooked rice (5 cups): 1-1/2 Rice (cups); 3 Water (cup); 1 tbsp Butter or margarine, optional; 3/4 tsp Salt, optional. Cooked rice (9 cups): 2-1/2 (full gag) Rice (cups); 5 Water (cup); 2 tbsp Butter or margarine, optional; 1 tsp Salt, optional. For best results: For firmer Rice, use less water and simmer for a shorter time. For Softer Rice, use more water and simmer for a longer time. Do not lift lid during cooking (the steam cooks the rice). Stove Top Directions: 1. Bring water to boil in saucepan. Add butter or margarine and salt, if desired. 2. Stir in rice. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 20 minutes or until rice is tender and most of the water is absorbed. 3. Remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes. Fluff with fork before serving. Microwave Directions: 1. Mix 2-1/2 cups water and 1 cup rice in microwavable bowl. Add 2 tsp butter or margarine and 1/2 tsp. salt, if desired. Cover. 2. Microwave on high 5 minutes. Stir. microwave on medium (50% power) 20 minutes or until rice is tender and most of the water is absorbed, stirring occasionally. 3. Let stand in microwave 5 minutes. Fluff with fork before serving. Microwave ovens vary; adjust cooking times as needed. Cooking times are based on 1100 watt microwave oven. Caution: Bowl and contents will be very hot. Use pot holders when removing from microwave. Instant Pot Directions 2-1/2 cups water, 1-1/2 cups Zatarain's Parboiled Long Grain Rice. 1. Add water and Rice to Instant Pot. Close lid. Set Valve to Seal. 2. Select Pressure cook (manual). Cook 7 minutes on low pressure or until rice is tender. Let stand 5 minutes. Quick release pressure. Open lid once pressure inside pot is completely released. (Check manufacturer's manual for safe operating directions) Makes 4 cups. Do retain vitamins, do not rinse before or drain after cooking. Perfect for gumbo, jambalaya, soups & more.
