Keeps best refrigerated or frozen. Preparation: 1. Heat water to boiling, add butter or margarine and salt. 2. Remove from heat, add cold milk. 3. Add potato flakes, stir gently, fluff with a fork. Do not whip!. Serving Chart: 2 Servings - 3/4 cup water; 1 tbsp butter; 1/4 tsp salt; 1/4 cup milk; 2/3 cup potato flakes. 4 Servings - 1-1/2 cups water; 2 tbsp butter; 1/2 tsp salt; 1/2 cup milk; 1-1/3 cup potato flakes. 8 Servings - 3 cups water; 4 tbsp butter; 1 tsp salt; 1 cup milk; 2-2/3 cup potato flakes. For creamier mashed potatoes, add additional hot water or milk. For thicker mashed potatoes, add more flakes. Microwave: Follow step 1 above, except add milk with the water, butter and salt in a large bowl or dish. Place in microwave oven at High setting until hot (approximately 3 minutes for each 4 servings). remove from microwave and follow step 3.
