Directions

Traditional Oven Recipe: 2 cups water, 2/3 cup milk, 2 tbsp margarine or butter. 1. Heat oven to 425 degrees F. Place potato slices into ungreased 2 to 2 1/2-quart casserole dish. 2 Combine sauce mix, water, milk and margarine in 2-quart saucepan. Bring just to a boil (about 4 minutes), stirring occasionally, remove from heat. 3. Pour sauce over potatoes in casserole dish. 4. Bake at 425 degrees F uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes or until potatoes are tender and lightly browned. Let potatoes stand about 5 minutes for sauce to thicken. Roasting Tip: Potatoes can be baked in the same oven while roasting meat. 325 degrees F - 45 minutes. 350 degrees F - 40 minutes. 375 degrees F - 35 minutes. 20 Minutes Stove-Top Recipe: 1. Combine potatoes, sauce mix, 2 cups water, 2/3 cup milk and 2 tablespoons margarine in 3-quart saucepan. 2. Heat just to boiling, stirring occasionally; reduce heat and cover. 3. Simmer for 12 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are tender and sauce has thickened. Double Recipe: Use a 3-quart or 13 by 9-inch baking dish or roasting pan. Follow Traditional Oven Recipe with 2 packages potatoes, 4 cups water, 1 1/3 cups milk and 1/4 cup margarine. Bake as directed. Microwave Recipe: 1. Combine potato slices, 2 cups water and 2 tablespoons margarine in 2-quart microwave-safe casserole dish. Microwave on High for 10 minutes or until potatoes are just tender. Do not drain. 2. Stir in sauce mix and 1 cup milk; mix well. 3. Microwave on High for 3 to 5 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Let stand 5 minutes to thicken sauce. High Altitude (Above 3500 Feet): No change.
