Directions

You Will Need: 2 cups boiling water, 1/2 cup milk, 2 tablespoons margarine or butter. Oven: 1. Heat oven to 450 degrees F. Stir potatoes, sauce mix, boiling water, milk and margarine in 1-1/2 quart casserole. 2. Bake uncovered about 20 minutes or until tender (sauce will thicken as it stands). Baking Tips: For 2 boxes, double all ingredients; bake in 3-qt casserole about 25 min. Bake potatoes and roast meat at same time: 325 degrees F about 55 min; 350 degrees F about 45 min; 375 degrees F about 40 min. Stove-Top: 1. Heat potatoes, sauce mix, 1-2/3 cups hot water, 1 cup milk and 2 tablespoons margarine or butter just to a boil in 2-quart saucepan, stirring occasionally (watch carefully to avoid boilover). 2. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 16 to 18 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender (sauce will thicken as it stands). High Altitude (3500-6500 ft): Oven: For 1 box, increase boiling water to 2-1/4 cups and bake time to about 22 min. For 2 boxes, increase boiling water to 4-1/3 cups and bake time to about 24 min. Stove-Top: Increase simmer time to 18-20 min. Refrigerate leftovers.
