Aqua Chem pH Decreaser

pH Decreaser, Muriatic Acid for Lower pH Level

Weight: 2 - 1 gal units

Directions

When using other products, as outlined in directions for this product, always follow label directions for those products. Do not add near metal fillings nor allow pH to drop below 7.2. Sunlight, rainfall, temperature, number of swimmers and frequency of pool use affect the rate of chlorine loss. Adjust cleaning and chemical maintenance accordingly. To prevent harmful algae and micro-organisms, superchlorinate every 2-4 weeks. Before you begin: ensure all pool equipment is working properly. Backwash filter following manufacturer's directions. Check water alkalinity, pH and calcium hardness with a test kit. Adjust alkalinity to 80-125 ppm for decreaser to lower pH, or pH increaser to raise pH. Adjust calcium hardness to 200-275 ppm for plaster pool, 175-225 for vinyl or fiberglass pool by adding a calcium hardness increaser. Directions for use: It is a violation of state law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. Read entire label and use strictly in accordance with precautionary statements and directions. Now use this product: If you want to lower pH, add this product at a rate of 32 fl oz (1 qt) per 20,000 gal of water by pouring it into pool at deep end. Operate recirculating pump while adding product and for 4 hours afterward to ensure even distribution of acid in water. Recheck pH 24 hours later and add more of this product, if necessary, to bring within correct 7.2-7.6 range. For newly-filled or reopened pools, several treatments may be needed to achieve correct pH range. How to determine pool capacity: Rectangle: length x width x average depth x 7.5. Round: diameter x diameter x average depth x 5.9. Oval: long diameter x short diameter x average depth x 5.9. Storage and disposal: Keep this product dry in original tightly closed container when not in use. Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated area away from heat or open flame. Do not reuse container, but place in trash collection. Rinse thoroughly before discarding in trash. Transportation and storage: 1.
