Giant Brussels Sprouts

Keep frozen. Simmer: For each 8 ounces (approximately 1/2 bag) of brussels sprouts, bring 1 cup water to a boil. Add vegetable and bring to a second boil. Reduce heat and cover. Simmer 6 to 9 minutes, until just tender. Do not overcook. Drain. Season to taste. Steam: Pour 8 ounces (approximately 1/2 bag) of brussels sprouts in vegetable steamer and place over boiling water. Cover and steam 6 to 8 minutes, until just tender. Season to taste. Microwave Ovens: Pour brussels sprouts in microwave-safe dish: 1-quart size for Â½ bag, 2-quart size for whole bag. Add water and cover. Microwave on High. Season to taste. 2 Large Servings: 8 oz brussels sprouts, 2 tbsp water, cooking time: 4 minutes. Stir and continue to cook 2 to 4 minutes. 5 Servings: 16 oz brussels sprouts, 1/4 cup water, cooking time: 5 minutes. Stir and continue to cook 3 to 5 minutes. Microwave cooking times may vary from one oven to another. For best results, consult owners manual.
