Keep frozen. Daily Feeding Guidelines: Less Active or Overweight: 5-15 lb: 2-4 ounces per day; 16-25 lb: 4-6 ounces per day; 26-50 lb: 6-9 ounces per day; 51-100 lb: 9-15 ounces per day; 101+ lb: 15+ ounces per day. Active Adult: 5-15 lb: 3-6 ounces per day; 16-25 lb: 6-9 ounces per day; 26-50 lb: 9-14 ounces per day; 51-100 lb: 14-22 ounces per day; 101+ lb: 22+ ounces per day. Puppies/Kittens; Pregnant & Nursing Females: 5-15 lb: 4-12 ounces per day; 16-25 lb: 12-16 ounces per day; 26-50 lb: 16-24 ounces per day; 51-100 lb: 24-39 ounces per day; 101+ lb: 39+ ounces per day. (Each chub equals approximately 32 oz.) (For dogs over 100 lb, please see package). Sudden changes in diet can sometimes result in digestive disturbances. Overfeeding is a common cause of digestive upset. Do not overfeed regardless of your pet's acceptance and eagerness. Always introduce any new diet over a period of 5 to 7 days, mixing increasing amounts with the present diet. Keep fresh water available at all times and offer plenty of exercise. Individual requirements will also vary based on specific metabolism, daily activity, age, genetics, health status, environment, outdoor temperature, and other factors. Serving: Instinct Raw Frozen Diets are convenient and ready to serve without the need for mixing or supplementing! 1. Keep frozen. Keep raw food frozen until ready to defrost. 2. Defrost. Defrost your pet's daily portion by thawing it in a covered container in the refrigerator overnight, or for at least 8 to 10 hours. (Cut your pet's daily portion if necessary - approximate 4 oz portions are indicated on the package for your convenience.) 3. Serve thawed food in your pet's stainless steel dish. Raw food should still be cold to the touch when served. Serving Tip: Instinct Raw can be served alone or mixed with any Nature's Variety kibble. Handling Tips: When serving Raw Frozen Diets, please remember these common sense handling tips: Keep frozen until ready to defrost. Wash hands before handling raw diets to prevent contaminating the food. For maximum food safety and freshness, defrost your pet's daily portion by thawing it in a covered container in the refrigerator overnight, or for at least 8 to 10 hours. For ideal food safety, product should still be cold to the touch when served. Keep raw meat and poultry separate from other foods. Use hot, soapy water to wash working surfaces, utensils (including cutting boards, preparation areas, and feeding bowls), hands, and any other items that touch or come into contact with raw meat or poultry. If your pet does not consume all the food presented within 30 minutes, remove any leftovers and discard. Use hot, soapy water to wash your hands and your pet's bowl after each feeding.
