Stove top cooking directions. 1 serving: 1-1/4 cups water or milk, 1/8 tsp. salt (optional), 3 tbsp. Cream of Wheat. 2 servings: 2 cups water or milk, 1/4 tsp. salt (optional), 1/3 cup Cream of Wheat. 4 servings: 4 cups water or milk, 1/2 tsp. salt (optional), 3/4 cup Cream of Wheat. Heat water and salt to boiling; milk and salt to almost boiling. For creamier cereal, use milk. Add Cream of Wheat slowly, stirring constantly. Return to boiling. Reduce heat to maintain a low boil. Cook 2-1/2 minutes or until thickened, stirring constantly. Microwave cooking directions: 1. Mix 3 tbsp. Cereal, 3/4 cup cold tap water or milk, and a dash of salt (optional) in a 2-cup microwavable bowl. For creamier cereal, use milk. 2. Cook on high (100% power) for 1 minute. Stir. Cook 1 to 2 minutes (Because of differences in microwave ovens, cooking times may vary. Overheating can cause cereal to boil over. Some high wattage ovens may cook cereal too quickly, causing lumps. Try a reduced power level and longer cooking time, stirring often) more, stirring well every 30 seconds, until cereal is thick and smooth. Mix well before serving.
