The Legend of the Candy Cane: The original Candy Canes were sticks of white sugar candy used to decorate Christmas trees. According to legend, a choirmaster at the Cologne (Germany) Cathedral asked a candy-maker to bend the ends of the sticks to represent a shepherd's staff. He gave the candies to good boys and girls after a long Christmas service. Soon, the custom spread throughout Europe. The red and white striped version of the Candy Cane first appeared in the early 20th century. The familiar peppermint treat is still an important tradition at everyone's Christmas celebration. Made in China.
